CEL is on and flashing. Vehicle does not feel to be misfiring. Pulled code P0300 random multiple misfire Monitored scan data finding continuous misfire counts on cylinders 2 and 3. Visually inspected noticing visible damaged wires going to the crank shaft sensor, also Visually melted connector to the bank 2 knock sensor. Customer has previously replaced the crank shaft sensor (CKP) with an aftermarket part. Installed 2 different aftermarket crank sensors finding CEL to still flash but with these sensors misfire counter showing misfires on cylinders 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 no longer showing misfires on 2 or 3. Reinstalled customers CKP and cylinders 2 and 3 now showing misfires none of the other do. Test drove vehicle noticed 1 time the engine completely cut out and tach dropped to 0 for about 1 to 1.5 seconds. After returning from test drive noticed misfire counter now showing misfires on cylinders 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7. No longer on cylinders 2 and 3. Vehicle has also set another code P0335 Crankshaft position sensor circuit. Have not felt any misfires under any of these conditions. Recommend repair visibly damaged wires (will require disconnecting knock sensor). Also noticed vehicle intermittently has extended crank (hard start).Replace knock sensor and connector. PM replace crank and cam sensors with Original equipment clear codes and continue inspection. Further repairs may be required. Repaired and rerouted damaged wiring. replaced Knock Sensor connector.
